Lai Chau is urgently completing the conditions to organize the Opening Ceremony of the 2026-2027 school year and inaugurate 5 inter-level boarding schools in the border area on September 5.
According to data from the Department of Education and Training, the preparation for the new school year is being implemented synchronously.
The mobilization rate of preschool children reached 99.8% with 26,439 children; 5-year-old children reached 99.9%. The whole province has 9,804 6-year-old children entering grade 1, reaching 99.9%; 12,014 students completing the primary school program entering grade 6, reaching 99.22%.
Notably, 5 inter-level boarding schools have enrolled 5,318/5,320 targets, reaching 99.96%, including 4,557 boarding students and 761 semi-boarding students.
The province has completed the recruitment of additional public employees in the Education sector in 2026, and at the same time arranged the team of management officials and teachers after the school merger.
Classrooms, functional rooms, dining halls, and dormitories at boarding schools are being urgently completed.
According to the plan, the Opening Ceremony of the 2026-2027 school year and the inauguration of Pa Tan, Hua Bum, Bum Nua, Dao San and Petrovietnam - Phong Tho Primary and Secondary Boarding Schools will take place simultaneously on the morning of September 5 in a live and online form.
Pa Tan School was chosen as the main bridge point of Lai Chau province.
Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee Ha Quang Trung requested investors and contractors to focus manpower, work overtime, complete works, accept and hand over to ensure safety.
The Education sector and localities must prepare carefully plans on security and order, traffic, electricity, transmission lines, food safety and flood response.
At the same time, the province requests to urgently consolidate the management and regulation team of teachers, not to let teacher shortages occur when the new school year begins; strive to complete 100% of the enrollment target.
