Lang Son sets date for simultaneous inauguration of 4 boarding schools in border areas

Lang Son - Boarding schools will be inaugurated simultaneously on September 5 and put into use in the new school year.

On August 18, the Office of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee said that provincial leaders requested the Provincial Police and the Department of Education and Training to mobilize resources and urge contractors to accelerate the construction of inter-level boarding primary and secondary schools in border communes.

Projects must ensure quality and meet operating conditions in the 2026-2027 school year.

The Provincial Police are assigned to take the lead in developing a plan to organize a simultaneous inauguration ceremony for schools starting construction in 2025 on September 5. The ceremony must be solemn, practical, economical and safe.

The Department of Education and Training is responsible for completing enrollment; preparing facilities for teaching, boarding, and semi-boarding; arranging management staff, teachers and staff.

Electricity, clean water, digital infrastructure and essential conditions must be completed before welcoming students.

Enrollment must be for the right subjects, public, transparent, and ensure the rights of students, especially those who need boarding and semi-boarding.

These days, the construction site of Khuat Xa Primary and Secondary Boarding School is operating urgently. Workers are divided into many teams to mix mortar, transport materials, install doors and complete building blocks.

Mr. Trinh Minh Vuong, Project Commander, said that the total construction volume reached about 80%. The classroom and dormitory blocks are basically in shape, while the dining hall, multi-purpose building and technical systems reached about 60%.

The main items are being accelerated to serve the new school year. The garden can continue to be completed later, but the electricity, water and drainage systems must operate smoothly before welcoming students," Mr. Vuong said.

Four projects have a total investment of more than 1,408 billion VND. Mau Son and Quoc Khanh schools are invested more than 390 billion VND each; Kien Moc nearly 345 billion VND; Khuat Xa more than 283 billion VND.

In Mau Son, the classroom block reached over 80%, the dormitory 70%, the dining hall 75%, but the multi-purpose building only reached over 50%, the yard and fence reached 25%. The transformer substation has not been installed.

Items in Quoc Khanh reached 55-80%. Kien Moc has a lower progress, with classroom block reaching 51%, boarding house 45%, yards and roads and fences 30%. Some items are expected to be completed on August 30, close to the trial operation time.
