The labor market has many changes
The above information was shared by Dr. Bui Trung Ninh - Head of Student Affairs Department, University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
According to a survey from the online recruitment and job search technology platform JobOKO, the growth rate of the number of jobs in the first 10 months of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024 has many fluctuations. The groups of Finance - Banking; IT - Software,... tend to decrease. Meanwhile, the Marketing - Communications industry increased by 9.32%.

In addition, the rate of personnel cuts in 2025 also has fluctuations. Specifically, recruitment by rank, especially Fresher recruitment, decreased by about 12%. Candidates with 1 to 3 years of experience increased to about 14% and higher positions, the rate also increased.
Along with that, there is a trend of applying AI in recruitment processes and online job search.
Mr. Ninh said that the strong development of artificial intelligence poses increasingly high requirements for students, requiring them to have a solid knowledge base to be able to adapt, develop for a long time and not be eliminated.
Technology students have great job opportunities, attractive salaries
Dr. Nguyen Thu Huong - Vice Rector of the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi said that the school's training scale is nearly 12,000 learners. According to surveys, the rate of students graduating on time has increased, especially the rate of students graduating early is high in many training majors; the rate of students graduating with jobs after 1 year of graduation reaches over 97%.
Regarding the income level of students after graduation, Dr. Bui Trung Ninh said that the average starting salary of students ranges from 15 - 20 million VND per month.

For excellent students, this level can reach 40-50 million VND per month or higher, depending on personal capacity and business needs" - Mr. Ninh said.
The Head of the Student Affairs Department, University of Technology, said that in terms of professional knowledge and practical skills, businesses currently assess students of the school at a good and very good level. However, students still have some limitations that need to be improved, including teamwork skills, leadership skills, CV writing skills and interview answering skills,...
To overcome and support students, the school regularly organizes talk shows, pre-event seminars, and invites alumni to return to share practical experiences.
The school also invites personnel representatives from businesses to participate in CV evaluation, and organizes trial interviews to help students improve necessary skills before entering the labor market.
The school continues to promote the connection between labor supply and demand through modernizing training programs, strengthening soft skills and building a job support system on a digital platform. The new learning environment in Hoa Lac is also expected to contribute to helping students develop more comprehensively, meeting the requirements of the labor market in the digital age" - Mr. Ninh said.
Although the current trend is that schools expect students to contact businesses early to improve their skills, according to Dr. Bui Trung Ninh, the reality that many students go to work early, neglect their studies, leading to slow graduation is a problem that schools are facing.
The school's point of view is to encourage students to participate in internships to accumulate practical experience, but there needs to be a reasonable balance between studying and working.
Students should not switch to full-time work when they have not completed the training program. At the same time, the school also coordinates with businesses to build sustainable cooperation orientations, prioritizing training instead of just focusing on recruitment immediately" - Mr. Ninh said.
