Be careful when choosing a career
In the 2024 admission season, the Information Technology industry group attracts a lot of attention from candidates. However, the hotness of the industry also makes many candidates fear that the supply of human resources is greater than the demand for human resources.
Phan Tung Duong - a student at Thuong Tin High School (Hanoi) said - he plans to choose Information Technology but still has many concerns. The male student said: "Information technology is a very hot industry in Vietnam, so I'm worried that in a few years the labor market in this industry will be saturated. Currently, the large demand for human resources in the industry does not mean that 4 years later when you graduate, the need will still be the same."
Sharing the same concern, Tran Minh Hieu - a student at Dan Phuong High School (Hanoi) said - Information technology is a field trained in many higher education institutions, the number of candidates registering is very large. Minh Hieu is worried that the situation of oversupply and excess human resources will narrow the opportunity to find a job after graduating.
Open job opportunities, dreamy salary
Information technology is the industry that uses computers and computer software to convert, store, protect, process, transmit and collect information. According to Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Quang Anh - Deputy Director of the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology, - Information technology will become a foundation industry in the future.
“Currently, information technology is gradually becoming the foundation industry for other industries to develop. Most industries, companies, agencies, and corporations operate through one or more information technology applications. Therefore, the need for high quality human resources is huge.
Students graduating from this major can work in domestic and foreign software development businesses" - Associate Professor. Dr. Tran Quang Anh said.
Sharing about this issue, Dr. Vo Ta Hoang - Deputy Head of the Department of Network and Information Security, Water Resources University said - job opportunities are always open with highly qualified human resources.
“The Faculty of Information Technology of Water Resources University trains 5 majors including: Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Cyber Security. These are industries that are of great interest, especially in the current context of active digital transformation.
According to our survey, the rate of graduates having jobs in the Information Technology industry is quite high, with a starting salary of about 10-15 million VND/month. The remuneration level can be higher, double or triple, depending on the job position, professional level, and experience of each person" - Dr. Vo Ta Hoang said.
According to admission experts, whether job opportunities and salaries are open or not depends greatly on the capacity and level of human resources. Therefore, before making the final choice, students should evaluate the suitability of the major for themselves based on their interest and learning ability, avoiding following the crowd's trends.
