At famous universities such as Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Science and Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Natural Sciences, University of Information Technology, Hanoi University of Technology... the benchmark scores of these majors are always the highest in the school.
In 2024, at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the Computer Science program (IT1) has the highest benchmark score of 83.82 for the competency assessment test (TSA) and 28.53 for the high school graduation exam score.
In 2023, the benchmark score for the Computer Science major (IT1) of this school will be up to 29.42 points, based on high school graduation exam scores. This score caused two national A-class valedictorians to miss their first wish.
The benchmark score for the Computer Science major at the National Economics University in 2024 is 35.55 points (algorithm coefficient 2) and in 2023, the benchmark score for high school graduation exam scores is 35.35 points (algorithm score coefficient 2).
At the University of Information Technology (Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City), in 2024, the benchmark score for the Computer Science major based on the high school graduation exam score plus priority points is 27.3 points. In 2023, it was 26.9 points.

In the 2025 admission season, Hanoi University of Science and Technology expects majors with the highest benchmark scores in 2025 to include: Computer Science, Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (Advanced program) with over 27.8 points. The group of majors include Computer Engineering, Global ICT, Digital Space Safety (Advanced program), Control - Automation Engineering, microelectronics Engineering and nano Technology, Viet Nhat Information Technology, expected to take in the range of 26.5-28 points.



Mr. Pham Quang Dung - Director of the Faculty of Information Technology, Vietnam Academy of Agriculture said that in the context of rapid development of science and technology, information technology has become one of the industries that are attracting attention in the labor market.
"Industries related to Information Technology and Computer Science always have open job opportunities, including domestic and international markets. When they have a certificate of completion of training programs, students do not worry about lack of jobs in the current context" - Mr. Dung said.
To ensure the quality of input enrollment, many higher education institutions train in information technology, focusing on training in the foundation of Mathematics.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Tung - Principal of CMC University said that Math is an important condition for learning information technology because this subject helps to practice thinking and calculation skills.
"Therefore, the subjects and majors of Information Technology such as Computer Science, Software engineering design, microchip design, Artificial Intelligence, Software intelligence, Information Technology, etc. will calculate the score for Mathematics with coefficient 2" - Mr. Tung said.
