In Hanoi in particular and the whole country in general, the fact that students do not wear helmets when riding motorbikes; driving a vehicle with a cylinder capacity of over 50cc to school has caused many concerns for society. Although the authorities have increased propaganda, inspection and handling, the number of violations is still high.
In addition, parents' frequent stopping and parking in front of school gates still recur, posing a potential risk to traffic safety.
Faced with the above situation, from September 12, Hanoi City Police will launch a peak period of propaganda, inspection, and handling of violations against students and parents in the area.
Accordingly, the Traffic Police force and the police of communes and wards simultaneously launched a campaign to focus on handling violations of traffic order and safety that are direct causes of traffic accidents.
In the road sector, the authorities focus on inspecting and handling acts such as: Driving without a driver's license; not wearing a helmet; carrying more people than prescribed; not obeying traffic lights; running in a row; going in the wrong direction on a one-way street; honking, revving the engine;
Driving a vehicle on one wheel for a two-wheeled vehicle; using a kickstand or other object to scrape the road while the vehicle is running; weaving, swerving; gathering to disturb public order, illegally racing; handing over the vehicle to a person who is not qualified to drive; stopping, parking, or parking the vehicle on the road or sidewalk contrary to regulations.
In the railway sector, focus on checking and handling sidewalks, school areas near railways, crowded places, handling violations of railway traffic safety corridors, failure to comply with warning signals, and potential risk of accidents.
For the waterway sector, focus on checking means of transporting students, resolutely handling acts of carrying more people, not equipping life jackets, life-saving tools, vehicles that are not qualified to operate, and drivers using alcohol and beer when participating in waterway traffic.

In parallel with the handling work, Hanoi City Police closely coordinated with the government, schools and socio-political organizations to propagate and disseminate traffic laws, build and replicate the model of "Traffic-safe school gates", sign a commitment between students, parents and schools to not violate traffic order and safety.
The inspection and handling will be carried out regularly and continuously from now until October 14, 2025.
