The entrance exam to 10th grade of high school in the 2026-2027 school year in Phu Tho province will take place from June 1-3, 2026.
According to Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee, this year is the first year the locality has organized 10th grade enrollment after merging administrative boundaries, so the organization of the exam has many changes in scale, management methods and enrollment.

In which, the highlight is that the registration for the exam is 100% done online.
Candidates can register a maximum of 7 aspirations, including: 1 aspiration to a specialized high school, 1 aspiration to an ethnic minority boarding high school, 2 aspirations to a non-specialized public high school, 2 aspirations to a non-public high school and 1 aspiration to the continuing education program at the high school level.
Admission work will be carried out once after the re-examination results are announced to ensure publicity, transparency and convenience for students.
For admissions to non-specialized public high schools, the admission score of aspiration 2 must be at least 1.0 point higher than the admission benchmark score of the registered school. This regulation is assessed to contribute to improving the quality of admissions, while ensuring competitiveness and suitability for students' abilities.
Another new point of this year's entrance exam is that candidates registering for specialized high schools will take 3 common subjects and specialized subjects at the registered specialized high school. This is a new point for candidates registering for the Vinh Phuc specialized high school entrance exam.
In addition, admissions to Hoang Van Thu High School for the Gifted also have some adjustments in the direction of increasing choices for candidates.
Accordingly, candidates registering to take the exam for specialized Informatics classes can choose the Informatics or Mathematics exam; candidates taking the exam for specialized French, Russian, and Chinese classes can choose the English exam (taking the same exam as the specialized English subject) or the Mathematics exam.
According to forecasts, the whole province will mobilize about 108 chairmen of the exam council, 221 vice chairmen of the council, 221 secretaries and about 6,500 exam and supervisory officials. In addition, there are police, medical, and security forces coordinating to perform tasks at the exam sites.
The work of setting exam questions, printing and copying exam questions and grading is seriously implemented in accordance with the admission regulations and regulations on security and confidentiality.
Phu Tho province has 137 high schools participating in 10th grade enrollment, including 3 specialized high schools, 16 ethnic minority boarding schools, 100 non-specialized public high schools, 1 secondary and high school of pedagogy directly under Hanoi National University of Education 2 and 18 non-public high schools.
The total enrollment target is 46,671 students with 1,083 classes, equivalent to about 73.89% of secondary school graduates. In which, the public sector enrolls 40,521 students, and the non-public sector enrolls 6,150 students.
