In Quang Ninh, the 10th grade high school entrance exam for the 2026 - 2027 school year will take place from June 23 to 25, 2026, 22 days later than in 2025. In which, on the 22nd, 6 candidates will complete exam procedures; on the 23rd and 24th, June is for students taking exams at non-specialized schools; on the 23rd and 25th, June is for students registering to take specialized school exams.
The locality that organizes the exam latest is Can Tho, taking place on the last two days of June. In addition, Gia Lai province will hold the exam in the two days near the end of June, June 27-28.
Some provinces and cities instead of taking entrance exams will consider admission to schools in the area including: Vinh Long, Dak Lak, Ca Mau, Lam Dong. All 4 provinces will still organize entrance exams to specialized high schools.

According to the Circular on the regulations on enrollment in grade 10 issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, localities can choose to conduct entrance exams, consider admissions or combine entrance exams and admissions.
In case of entrance exams, to unify and ensure the viewpoint that the exam is light and not costly, the exam includes 2 compulsory subjects: Mathematics, Literature and the third exam subject or test paper selected by the Department of Education and Training, announced before March 31st every year.
