Similarly, in Lien Chieu district, Mr. Ho Cong Trung - a resident of Quang Thanh 4 residential area, Hoa Khanh Bac ward - said that this locality is the central area of Lien Chieu district, with a relatively large land fund but no schools. For many years, people have had to send their children to school in Hoa Minh ward and Hoa Hiep Nam ward.
In 2023, Mr. Tran Tuan Loi - Representative of the People's Council of Da Nang City at the discussion session of the mid-year People's Council meeting raised the issue of investors only focusing on building houses for business purposes, dividing land into plots and selling them, and not paying attention to the issue of building public works to serve people's lives. The problem of lack of schools and teachers has been going on for years. According to Mr. Loi, if by 2024 there is no investment in facilities and teachers, the shortage of schools in urban areas will be very serious. Investors committed to building 10 schools, including 8 kindergartens, 1 primary school and 1 secondary school. However, up to now, although the population is very large, filling up the entire project, no school has been built.
Need approval for investment and upgrading of schools
At the meeting with voters before the 2024 year-end session of the 10th City People's Council, Mr. Huynh Anh Vu - Vice Chairman of Lien Chieu District People's Committee - said that Hoa Khanh Bac ward is adjacent to Hoa Khanh Industrial Park and has universities and colleges.
Therefore, the demand for schools for children of local residents and temporary residents is also very high. This district has also divided the students into other areas such as Hoa Khanh Nam ward and Hoa Minh ward to arrange schools.
According to Mr. Vu, Lien Chieu district has also issued Project 06 in 2021 on adjusting and expanding schools in the period of 2021 - 2025 in Lien Chieu district. At the same time, the district also updated and supplemented the project on upgrading schools in 2021 - 2025. The district has also assigned the Department of Education and Training to coordinate with the Project Management Board to implement a number of contents to prepare for investment to meet the education and training work as well as meet the school needs of voters.
"In the coming time, we will have investment phases to solve urgent problems. In 2025, a number of schools will be approved, we will organize a school construction program in the district as well as Hoa Khanh Bac ward," said Mr. Huynh Anh Vu.
In Cam Le district, the Department of Construction of Da Nang City and the City People's Committee have issued an official dispatch on investment in the construction of social infrastructure works in the Hoa Xuan Ecological Urban Area. In particular, for social infrastructure works invested by the city, the People's Committee of Cam Le district is assigned to proactively coordinate with the Department of Planning and Investment in the steps of researching capital allocation, reporting to the City People's Committee for approval as a basis for implementation.
The People's Committee of Da Nang City has also assigned the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to review and advise on early implementation of social infrastructure in the area. For social infrastructure projects invested from the city budget, the People's Committee of Cam Le District proactively coordinates with the Department of Planning and Investment in the steps of researching capital allocation, reporting to the City People's Committee for approval as a basis for implementation. Last October, the Department of Construction continued to send an Official Dispatch requesting the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and the People's Committee of Cam Le District to report on the results of implementing the City People's Committee's instructions.
