At the meeting with voters before the 2024 year-end session of the 10th City People's Council, Mr. Ho Cong Trung - a resident of Quang Thanh 4 residential area, Hoa Khanh Bac ward - said that this locality is the central area of Lien Chieu district, with a relatively large land fund but no schools. For many years, people have had to send their children to school in Hoa Minh ward and Hoa Hiep Nam ward.
Therefore, Mr. Ho Cong Trung suggested that it is necessary to build a primary and secondary school in Hoa Khanh Bac ward to serve the learning needs of people's children, especially children of workers.
Responding to questions, Mr. Huynh Anh Vu - Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee - said that Hoa Khanh Bac Ward is adjacent to Hoa Khanh Industrial Park and has universities and colleges. Therefore, the demand for schools for children of local residents and temporary residents is also very high. The district has also divided the students into other areas such as Hoa Khanh Nam Ward and Hoa Minh Ward to arrange schools.
According to Mr. Vu, Lien Chieu district has also issued Project 06 in 2021 on adjusting and expanding schools in the period of 2021 - 2025 in Lien Chieu district. At the same time, the district also updated and supplemented the project of building and upgrading schools in 2021 - 2025. During this period, the district has built a primary school at 75 Nguyen Luong Bang for the second campus of Ngo Si Lien school, built Hoa Hiep 1 primary school, built a block of classrooms for Le Anh Xuan secondary school and proposed a location southwest of Ring Road 2, Hoa Khanh Bac ward with an area of 20,000m2 to build a secondary school.
The District has also assigned the Department of Education and Training to coordinate with the Project Management Board to implement a number of contents to prepare for investment to meet the education and training needs as well as meet the school needs of voters.
"Due to the many shortcomings in the initial planning work, spontaneous development in some residential areas has led to inadequate infrastructure. In the coming time, we will have investment phases to resolve the pressing issues. In 2025, a number of schools will be approved, and we will organize a school construction program in the district as well as Hoa Khanh Bac ward," said Mr. Huynh Anh Vu.
