On the afternoon of August 1, the Ministry of Education and Training (GDĐT) held a press conference for the 7th National Press Award for the cause of Vietnamese education - 2024.
The national press award "For the cause of Vietnamese Education" is held annually to honor authors with excellent journalistic works written about the cause of education; about typical groups and individuals who have made many contributions to the cause of education. Thereby emphasizing the value and enhancing the importance of the education sector for the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland. At the same time, it attracts the attention of all levels, sectors and society for the cause of Vietnamese Education.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son highly appreciated the quantity and quality of works participating in the award over the past years, through each work demonstrating the companionship and sharing of the press with education sector and society as a whole.
Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son also expressed his hope that this year, in addition to works that reflect examples of teachers and educational managers, educational activities for award participants should focus on content related to policies, find out the challenges of the industry in the future.
Information about the rules, journalist Trieu Ngoc Lam - Editor-in-Chief of Education and Times Newspaper, Standing Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee said: Authors participating in the prize are Vietnamese citizens, including professional journalists. professional and amateur, with excellent journalistic works published on mass media licensed by the Ministry of Information and Communications, in accordance with the award's criteria.
The participating author does not violate the regulations on professional ethics of Vietnamese journalists, does not violate the Press Law or other laws. Each author or group of authors can submit a maximum of 5 works to participate in the award. Members of the Judging Council, Steering Committee, and Organizing Committee do not submit works for the prize.
The prize is for journalistic works published in all types of press (including print, electronic, radio, and television) licensed and distributed domestically and abroad by the Ministry of Information and Communications. ; Posting and broadcasting time is from September 5, 2023 to September 5, 2024. If the work is published or broadcast multiple times, at least 2/3 of the works must be in the above time period.
The time to receive works to participate in the National Press Award for the cause of Vietnamese education is until September 30, 2024. It is expected that the closing ceremony and awarding ceremony will be held on November 16, 2024.
In the 2023 season, the Organizing Committee received nearly 800 entries in all four types of press including print, electronic, radio and television.
