According to the plan, on September 5th, An Giang province will organize the inauguration of 3 schools: Giang Thanh Primary and Secondary Boarding School, Vinh Gia Primary and Secondary Boarding School, Khanh An Primary and Secondary Boarding School in 3 border communes Giang Thanh, Vinh Gia, Khanh Binh with a total investment in phase 1 of more than 388 billion VND, from the central budget.
Up to now, all preparations for putting the 3 schools into operation have been completed, ready to welcome students for the 2026 - 2027 school year. In terms of facilities, dormitories, accommodation plans, enrollment work and conditions for stable operation have been completed since the beginning of the school year. According to the plan, the main bridge point of An Giang province in the inauguration and opening ceremony will be located in Giang Thanh, connected online with the central bridge point at Muong Khuong Primary and Secondary Boarding School (Lao Cai).
Talking to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Pham Quang Nho - Principal of Giang Thanh Primary and Secondary Boarding School said: The school's preparation for the inauguration day as well as the opening ceremony of the new school year has been done quite well. First of all, the work of mobilizing students, the total number of students of the school is 934 (100% have enrolled, of which more than 50% of students are Khmer ethnic minorities).
Secondly, regarding the work of providing school supplies as well as school supplies and blankets, sheets and pillows for students, the school has received enough and is distributing them to them, expected to be completed tomorrow. Regarding the dormitory kitchen work, the school coordinates with Battalion 6 to support 6 soldiers and 10 contract staff to cook rice to serve the dormitory and semi-boarding classes. The decoration and general cleaning of the whole school are basically completed, and the official program will be run tomorrow morning.
Teachers and students as well as the people of Giang Thanh commune are very happy to have a new spacious school. This will create conditions for disadvantaged children in the area to study and train. I think that in the not too distant future, improving the quality of education in the Giang Thanh border area will become more and more developed and solid because they are trained and cared for in a very favorable and spacious environment like this," Mr. Nho shared.
Previously, on November 9, 2025, An Giang Provincial People's Committee organized the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 3 schools above. An Giang is a province with a large area, diverse terrain, border with Cambodia, the lives of people on the border line are still difficult, and the learning conditions of children in remote and isolated areas are still lacking. Therefore, the policy of building school projects in border communes is of great significance - both contributing to improving people's knowledge, training human resources, fostering talents for the future, and spreading culture, fostering friendship between the people of Vietnam and Cambodia.
