The 2026 high school graduation exam has officially closed. After many months of focused study, this is the time for candidates to temporarily put aside the pressure of studying to enjoy the summer days, while preparing for the university admission phase and new plans in the future.
Leaving the exam site with a lighthearted mood, Nguyen Thao Anh (Xuan Hoa ward, Ho Chi Minh City) said that the most anticipated thing at this time is to rest and meet friends after a long time of focusing only on studying.
Throughout the exam preparation time, I almost didn't go out. After the exam, I plan to go to the movies with a group of friends, eat and maybe take a short trip with my family. For now, I want to relax for a few days and then think about the next plans," Thao Anh shared.
The female student said she was quite satisfied with her performance in this year's exam and hoped the results would be as expected.
Meanwhile, Nguyen Minh Quan, a candidate taking the exam at Ta Quang Buu High School, plans to spend a few days resting before focusing on learning about the profession to register for university admission aspirations.
I am hesitant between information technology and artificial intelligence. After the exam, I will learn more about the training program, job opportunities as well as the strengths of each school to make a suitable choice. This is an important decision, so I want to consider it carefully," Minh Quan said.
Many candidates take advantage of the waiting time for the exam score announcement to improve their foreign language skills. Diep Nguyen Ha said that she has planned to learn English and prepare for the IELTS exam this summer.
Previously, I spent most of my time on graduation exam subjects, so I could not focus on IELTS. After finishing the exam, I will register for a course to improve my English skills and better prepare for university study later," Nguyen Ha shared.
The female student aims to be admitted to Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy and considers improving her foreign language proficiency as one of the important preparation steps for the upcoming journey.
Besides resting and studying, many students also want to experience a real working environment. Tran Thi Minh Thu said she will find a part-time job during the summer to accumulate experience.
I want to work part-time to learn how to communicate, work in groups and manage personal finances. If I have more income, I can also be more proactive in preparing for my student life. This is a suitable time for me to try my hand and become more mature," Minh Thu expressed.
According to records, after the exam ends, many candidates choose different plans but all aim to rebalance their lives after a long period of studying pressure. Some take advantage of traveling, meeting friends; some focus on learning foreign languages, soft skills; some learn about industries, universities or try their hand at part-time jobs.
According to the plan of the Ministry of Education and Training, the results of the 2026 high school graduation exam will be announced at 8:00 AM on July 1. After knowing the scores, candidates will enter the stage of registering aspirations for university admission, opening a new door after the important milestone of school age.
