Achieving 29.75 points, Hoang Huong Giang, a 12th grade student of Mathematics 1, Hanoi National University of Education High School for the Gifted - is one of the three leading candidates in block A01 in the 2026 high school graduation exam. Previously, the female student had a perfect score of 1,600/1,600 SAT, being one of eight students of the school who achieved this result. This is also one of the schools with many students achieving perfect SAT scores this year.
Behind the impressive achievements of the female student is self-discipline in studying and the companionship of her family.
Sharing with Lao Dong reporters, when she learned that her daughter became one of the three leading candidates in block A01 with 29.75 points, Ms. Nguyen Thu Huong could not hide her joy.
After the exam, my child compared the answers and said that he was also likely to get that score, but I was still worried because I was afraid that my child was negligent somewhere. When there were official results, I was really reassured and happy" - Ms. Huong shared.

According to Ms. Huong, the family does not put much emphasis on achievements but always lets children be proactive in learning. The role of parents is mainly to create the best conditions for children to feel secure in reviewing.
I emphasize my child's self-awareness. Learning ultimately must come from the child's own awareness. What the child needs, the family will support as much as possible. As for study time, review plans or how to study, the child arranges everything themselves. I almost don't have to remind them much" - she said.
She added that the knowledge foundation accumulated in three years of high school and the companionship of teachers are important factors helping Huong Giang confidently enter the exam.
The teachers at the High School for the Gifted, Hanoi National University of Education are also very enthusiastic, dedicated to teaching and supporting their children throughout the three years of schooling. Thanks to that, my child has a fairly solid knowledge and thinking foundation. The characteristic of specialized students is to deeply understand the nature of the problem, so when entering the high school graduation exam, my child does not encounter too many difficulties" - Ms. Huong shared.
Despite having many advantages before the exam, the female student still sets very high requirements for herself.
She often puts pressure on herself. Sometimes I was worried because I was afraid of affecting her health, so I advised her to stay calm. Actually, before that, she had many opportunities. She achieved 1,600 SAT scores, 8,0 IELTS scores, so she almost had the opportunity to enter university by other methods. But she still wanted to do her exam well.
When she returned from the Math exam, she discovered that she had a multiple-choice question that she thought would be correct, so she was quite sad. I just encouraged her that after finishing the exam, just be comfortable, don't think too much" - she recounted.
Sharing about her daughter's upcoming plans, Huong Giang's mother said that the female student is aiming for Information Technology and plans to study abroad.
I have received full scholarships from KAIST School and Seoul University (Korea). I am still considering making the most suitable choice. It is highly likely that I will study Information Technology" - she said.
From the journey of accompanying her children, Ms. Thu Huong believes that the most important thing for parents is to help their children form self-study awareness early, while limiting pressure during the exam preparation period.
Children already put pressure on themselves. If parents put more pressure, children will be very tired. The important thing is to always maintain a gentle atmosphere so that children have a good mentality when entering the exam.
More importantly, the results come not only from a few months of exam preparation but also from the process of accumulating basic knowledge from the early years of high school. When the foundation is good, children will be much more confident when entering important exams" - Ms. Thu Huong advised.
