Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee has just issued a document requesting departments, branches and authorities of communes, wards and special zones to urgently tighten food safety management in the kitchens of schools in the province.
In the context of the new school year just starting, the incident in which parents of Trung Vuong Primary School (Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat) were worried about dirty food sounded the alarm about the safety of school meals.

Regarding the content of the above incident, Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Health to preside over and coordinate with the Provincial Police and related units to quickly verify, clarify the reflection, sense responsibility and report to the Provincial People's Committee before September 23. At the same time, inspection teams will increase surprise inspections of collective kitchens, especially large-scale schools, promptly correct violations, and ensure food safety.
The Provincial Police are assigned to fight and strictly handle violations of the law in the business and supply of poor quality food; strictly handle organizations and individuals who violate, especially the activities of smuggling, production, processing and trading of fake, poor quality food.
The Department of Agriculture and Environment and the Department of Industry and Trade are responsible for controlling the origin of food, preventing smuggled and unknown goods, especially at school facilities.

For the education sector, the Provincial People's Committee emphasized the need to strengthen coordination between schools and the Parents' Association to promote the role of supervising boarding kitchens; teachers and students must be equipped with knowledge to protect themselves against the risk of food poisoning and food-related diseases.
The Department of Education and Training promptly and proactively coordinates with competent authorities to handle incidents of food safety and food poisoning in educational institutions under its management.
The authorities of wards, communes and special zones are responsible for directing schools to only sign contracts with reputable food suppliers with sufficient licenses and hygiene conditions. Organize surprise inspections of food safety at school kitchens in the area, promptly correct violations to ensure food safety.
