Ho Chi Minh City handles school transfer aspirations of Hoa Sen School students

Ho Chi Minh City - As of September 7, 122 students of Hoa Sen Secondary and High School have been transferred to non-public schools.

On the evening of September 7, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training (GDĐT) informed about the progress of resolving the school transfer aspirations of students of Hoa Sen Secondary and High School, Hanoi Highway location, in order to ensure the learning rights of students in the 2026-2027 school year.

According to the Department of Education and Training, for students who wish to transfer to non-public schools, on September 3, the Department worked with qualified educational institutions to receive students to implement the process.

Many non-public educational institutions have committed to receiving students, and at the same time introduced preferential policies and support to share difficulties with parents and students.

According to the review of the Department of Education and Training as of September 7, 122 students of Hoa Sen Secondary and High School, Hanoi Highway location, have been received by non-public educational institutions.

For students who wish to transfer to public schools, the Department of Education and Training said that it has based on the list of aspirations of 10th grade parents summarized and updated to the 28th and 30th. 8.

On that basis, the Department of Education and Training has advised the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the City Enrollment Steering Committee to consider and approve the policy of allowing public general schools in the area to receive students from Hoa Sen Secondary and High School, Hanoi Highway location.

The reception will be carried out for students who fully meet the requirements and criteria for admission according to regulations, ensuring seriousness, transparency and compliance with regulations.

Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training had a document requesting Hoa Sen Secondary and High School to terminate the organization of educational activities at campus 2, address Km11+300 Hanoi Highway, Tang Nhon Phu ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the Department of Education and Training, up to the time of inspection, campus 2 of the school has not provided legal documents proving land use rights, house use rights or school location lease contracts as prescribed in point b, clause 2, Article 28 of Decree 125/2024/ND-CP on procedures for allowing secondary schools to operate in education.

Due to not meeting the conditions on land, facilities and equipment as prescribed, facility 2 of Hoa Sen Secondary and High School does not meet the conditions for educational activities according to Clause 1, Article 27 of Decree 125/2024/ND-CP of the Government.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training said that it will continue to monitor and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to resolve students' wishes to transfer schools, with the goal of ensuring learning rights throughout the 2026-2027 school year.
