On the evening of August 24, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, Head of the Culture and Social Department of Hoa Hung ward, said that the locality had grasped information from parents reflecting that PennSchool school on Ba Thang Hai street closed on the opening day of the school year and had requested the school to report.
According to the ward leader, the school has not reported the incident to the ward before the facility stopped operating. Currently, this facility has more than 400 students.
Previously, the Board of Directors of PennSchool announced that on August 24, students will come to school and participate in early year activities at the hall of the Ho Chi Minh City Academy of Public Administration and Management Branch on Ba Thang Hai Street.
The school's announcement clearly states that on the enrollment day, students will participate in familiarization activities, year-end activities and lunch. On the first day, the school does not serve breakfast and lunch; students will leave after lunch.
However, when parents brought their children to school to enroll according to the notice, they were surprised to see the school stop operating.
At the school gate area, a banner was hung with information about the revocation of the Lao student dormitory of the Branch of the Academy of Public Administration and Management in Ho Chi Minh City - where PennSchool is using as a campus.
According to the banner content, the Lao student dormitory building will be revoked from July 1. The reason given is that the two sides have signed a contract termination record and the extension period for PennSchool to relocate to June 30 has ended.
The fact that the school branch stopped operating when the new school year was approaching made many parents worried about their children's studies, especially when the previous enrollment schedule had been announced by the school.
PennSchool School System (PennSchool) was established in 2020, with 2 facilities on Ba Thang Hai and Tran Binh Trong streets (this facility is expected to be able to receive about 400 students).
The school is implementing the US program in Ho Chi Minh City for students from pre-primary school to 12th grade.
