In 2025, the University of Technology - VNU-HCM will enroll students in the Standard program (41 majors, majors), the English Teaching and Learning program (27 majors, majors) and other special training programs. The total expected enrollment target is 5,550 candidates.
The University of Technology uses two admission methods: comprehensive admission including criteria for academic performance, other abilities, social activities for the majority of candidates (95-99% of the total target) and direct admission according to the admission regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and the regulations of the school (1-5% of the total target).
Candidates applying for admission to the English Teaching and Learning program, the Advanced program, the International Transfer program to Australia, the US, and New Zealand must have a minimum English proficiency: IELTS ≥ 6.0; TOEFL iBT ≥ 79; TOEIC Listening - Reading ≥ 730, Speaking - Writing ≥ 280.
In case of IELTS 5.5; TOEFL iBT 60; TOEIC 4 skills (Listening - Reading 590 and Speaking - Writing 230); Duolingo 95; Linguaskill and FCE 167, PTE 42, CAE 180: Be considered for temporary admission to the international program and must complete the additional requirements for English standards within 1 semester.
The school noted that it only accepts valid Academic International English certificates.
The International Bachelor of Technology Linking Program between the University of Technology - VNU-HCM and Sydney University of Technology UTS, Australia (TNE) requires IELTS ≥ 6.5 (writing skills ≥ 6.0); TOEFL iBT ≥ 79 (writing skills ≥ 21); PTE ≥ 58 (writing skills ≥ 50); Cambridge C1A/C2P ≥ 176 (writing skills ≥ 169); UTS College AE5: Meeting
The University of Technology notes that the threshold for ensuring the input quality of the comprehensive admission method is 50 points on a scale of 100.
If the candidate has more than one subject, the subject with the highest admission score will be chosen.
In case candidates have IELTS Academic ≥ 5.0; TOEFL iBT ≥ 46; TOEIC Listening - Reading ≥ 460 and Speaking - Writing ≥ 200 will be converted to English in high school graduation exam results and high school academic scores for admission combinations using English.
