On September 4, the University of Mining and Geology (HUMG) organized a forum "The role of the University of Mining and Geology in training high-quality human resources to serve national development in the new era", towards the 60th anniversary of the school's establishment.
The forum focused on exchanging views on the requirement to train human resources capable of mastering strategic technologies, in the context of many changes in science, technology, resources, energy and national infrastructure.
According to the orientation stated at the forum, HUMG continues to promote its strengths for nearly 60 years in the fields of geology, minerals, oil and gas, geodesy - mapping and underground construction, while expanding to new technology directions such as rare earths and strategic minerals, deep sea resources, underground space, digital geo-space data, artificial intelligence and high-speed railways.
The school orients its development according to the research university model, building 3 excellent centers by 2030, including the Strategic Minerals and Underground Technology Center; Digital Geospace, AI and Digital Twin Center; Underground Works, Metro and High-Speed Railway Center.
HUMG aims to train engineers who are not only capable of using technology but also researching, mastering and gradually creating technology. In addition to in-depth knowledge, learners are oriented to develop digital capacity, data, AI, interdisciplinary thinking, foreign languages and lifelong learning ability.
