Ho Chi Minh City Banking University said it has received some feedback from candidates about their results being higher than the benchmark but has not yet received an admission notice.
Ho Chi Minh City Banking University said that the school's admission principles have been announced through the Admissions Plan and admission principles in the announcement of the entrance threshold to ensure quality on July 23, 2025.
For the majors of Law, Economic Law, Economic Law (partial English), the total minimum admission score is 18 points (calculated on a 30-point scale). Subject combinations with Math and Literature, or Math or Literature must achieve a minimum of 6 points or more on a scale of 10.
For other methods, the scores for Math and Literature are converted to a scale of 10 respectively.
"Ho Chi Minh City Banking University is committed to ensuring that candidates who are eligible for admission to the majors of Law, Economic Law, and Economic Law (shared English) will be considered and admitted to the University in accordance with current legal regulations," the school's announcement stated.
The school also recommends that candidates and parents who are still wondering about the admission results should send information to the school's admission department for answers, ensuring the admission confirmation time according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training before 5:00 p.m. on August 30, 2025.
Previously, some candidates who registered to apply to Ho Chi Minh City Banking University said that although their exam scores were higher than the school's official benchmark scores, they still did not pass the entrance exam for the major of Law and Economic Law according to the combination of Literature, History, and Geography because the school changed the admission conditions.
Candidates said that the school's previous announcement on the threshold for ensuring the quality of entrance for regular university admission in 2025 had separate regulations for the Law and Economic Law majors.
Regulations on admission combinations with Math and Literature subjects, or Math or Literature must achieve a minimum of 6 points or more.
Candidates believe that with this regulation, considering the combination of Literature, History, and Geography, only Literature with 6 points or more is enough, and Math is not required to have 6 points or more.
However, the exam has changed the admission conditions, forcing both Math and Literature to achieve 6 points or more, causing candidates to have a combination of Literature, History, and Geography exam score higher than the school's standard score but not be admitted.
