Some candidates who applied to Ho Chi Minh City Banking University said that although their exam scores were higher than the school's official benchmark scores, they still did not pass the entrance exam for the major of Law and Economic Law according to the combination of Literature, History, and Geography because the school changed the admission conditions.
Candidates said that the school's previous announcement on the threshold for ensuring the quality of entrance for regular university admission in 2025 had separate regulations for the Law and Economic Law majors.
Regulations on admission combinations with Math and Literature subjects, or Math or Literature must achieve a minimum of 6 points or more.
Candidates believe that with this regulation, considering the combination of Literature, History, and Geography, only Literature with 6 points or more is enough, and Math is not required to have 6 points or more.
However, the exam has changed the admission conditions, forcing both Math and Literature to achieve 6 points or more, causing candidates to have higher scores than the school's admission standard but not be admitted.
On the morning of August 26, speaking with Lao Dong, a representative of Ho Chi Minh City Banking University said that they had received feedback from a number of candidates and parents related to the above issue.
"Currently, the school is gathering, recording the feedback of candidates and parents, then holding a meeting and officially notifying candidates, parents and society as soon as possible," he said.
