On June 3, the Ministry of Education and Training held a ceremony to hand over the task of Chairman of the Council of Vietnam-Germany University (VGU) in Thoi Hoa ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
Previously, the Minister of Education and Training had decided to appoint Prof. Dr. Le Quan - Deputy Minister of Education and Training in charge of international cooperation to hold the position of Chairman of the Council of Vietnam-Germany University.
Prof. Dr. Le Quan holds the position of Chairman of the Council of Vietnam-Germany University, succeeding Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Phuc - former Deputy Minister, former Chairman of the School Council for the term 2021-2026. Mr. Nguyen Van Phuc continues to work at Vietnam-Germany University in the role of senior advisor.
At the inauguration ceremony, Prof. Dr. Le Quan emphasized that he does not see this as a purely administrative position but as a mission that requires real enthusiasm. Mr. Le Quan determined that the next period is the time for Viet Duc University to enter the "level of university autonomy and enhancement of its position", in which the role of the Ministry of Education and Training will shift towards orientation and state management, creating space for the school to grow stronger.
