Lecturers almost stay permanently at the robot workshop, trade union regularly visits
On the afternoon of June 3, Workshop Center No. 5 of the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress discussed the topic "Deploying the emulation movement "Good labor, high productivity, good income", contributing to the implementation of the double-digit growth target".
Sharing opinions at the discussion center, Mr. Dang Dai Hung - Chairman of the Trade Union of Lac Hong University - said that the school's success at Robocon competitions at home and abroad comes not only from expertise but also from the companionship and care of the trade union organization for the teaching staff, guidance staff and students.
According to Mr. Hung, the first important factor is the passion of both lecturers and students for Robocon. However, to maintain the achievement of many years of domestic and international championships, the attention of the School Council, Board of Directors, School Trade Union, local authorities and especially the Vietnam Education Union is still needed.
He said that to participate in a Robocon season, teams must start researching, designing and manufacturing robots immediately after the end of the previous year's international competition. The preparation process lasted about 300 days of continuous research, testing and product completion.
Making a competition robot is not simple at all. Instructors and students have to spend a lot of time, effort, and even eat and sleep with the robot throughout the preparation process," Mr. Hung shared.
There are lecturers who have almost stayed at the robot workshop for many months to research and complete products. The Trade Union must regularly visit and encourage families, remind them to take care of their health and create conditions for them to wholeheartedly focus on their work.

In addition, the Trade Union of Lac Hong University also maintains many activities to care for families with both spouses working at the school.
Every year, the school organizes commendations for "Typical Lac Hong Families", gives gifts, movie tickets and many other forms of encouragement to recognize the contributions of workers. Even the union "rolls up their sleeves" to take care of children for teachers so that they can feel secure in their studies.
Mr. Hung said that the Vietnam Education Union also always pays attention to and promptly encourages the team of lecturers and workers with outstanding achievements. Many typical officials and teachers are commended, participating in "returning to the source" programs and honoring activities organized by the Vietnam Education Union.
According to Mr. Hung, after each season, in addition to local and school rewards, the union also has separate rewards for the Robocon team and instructors. Not only bonuses, the union also pays attention to spiritual gifts, gifts for the children of instructors and staff.
It is the concern from small things that has helped workers become more attached to the trade union organization and to the school," Mr. Hung shared.
Rewarding employees with free family trips
Sharing experiences at Workshop Center No. 5, Ms. Vu Thi Tuyet Lan - Chairwoman of the Trade Union of Cosmos 1 Technology Co., Ltd. - said that every year from the beginning of the year, the trade union coordinates with businesses to launch the emulation movement "Good labor, creative labor" to all officials and employees.
The company deploys many channels for employees to register and propose initiatives. At the workshops, suggestion boxes are arranged, while the office block can register directly on the company's internal management system and the trade union. Periodically weekly or monthly, suggestion boxes are opened to receive ideas and initiatives from employees.
Participants are very diverse, from direct machine operators to office workers. Many valuable initiatives are proposed by the production workers themselves," Ms. Lan said.
She cited that in the period from 2020 to 2024, a direct production worker of the company, with only high school education, received the Creative Labor Certificate of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for 5 consecutive years.

According to Ms. Lan, when workers have ideas for improvement, the trade union will coordinate with specialized departments to support the implementation of the initiative. The trade union plays a connecting role between workers and design, repair, processing and production departments to complete and implement improvement solutions in practice.
Workers only need to come up with ideas. Specialized departments will participate in supporting the completion and application of the initiative," Ms. Lan said.
She recounted a typical case in 2016 at the company's product bending department. At that time, the line only had one bending machine with each production cycle producing one product. Before the need to increase output according to customer orders, a worker directly standing at the machine proposed to improve the bending head so that it could produce three products simultaneously in a production cycle.
From the initial idea of the workers, the company mobilized design, processing and production departments to coordinate implementation. The solution was then successfully applied, contributing to improving labor productivity and production efficiency.
In addition, the company also regularly maintains initiative competitions. Since 2020, the Trade Union of Cosmos 1 Technology Co., Ltd. has proposed and been approved by the business for a policy of rewarding the first prize-winning group of the year with a free trip for the whole family.
This policy has been maintained continuously for the past three years, contributing to encouraging workers to actively participate in creative emulation movements at enterprises.
