For many years now, more than 100 preschool children in 3 villages, including Loc village, Bai village and La village (Yen Thanh commune, Yen Mo district, Ninh Binh province) have had to go to school at other schools, causing difficulties in picking up and dropping off the children.

Looking at the unfinished school, abandoned for many years while children have to go to school elsewhere, people can't help but feel sorry.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Mui (La village, Yen Thanh commune, Yen Mo district, Ninh Binh province) said that for the past 3 years, every day she has had to take her 2 grandchildren to school nearly 3km from home.
"When the government had a policy to rebuild Kindergarten Area B, we were very happy. However, since 2020, the school has been unfinished and abandoned, with weeds growing, while the children have to go to school at another school, which makes us feel heartbroken," Ms. Mui shared.

At the Kindergarten area B, Yen Thanh commune, according to the reporter of Lao Dong Newspaper, there are 2 rows of houses, including 1 row of 3-storey houses and 1 row of 1-storey houses that have been completed but have been abandoned for many years, causing weeds to grow wildly.
Talking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Ms. Pham Thi Hien - Chairman of Yen Thanh Commune People's Committee said that currently in the commune there are 3 kindergartens, divided into 3 areas, including area A, area B and area C.

For the school site B, there was previously an old facility, including a 1-storey classroom block and functional rooms. In 2020, in order to ensure the criteria for recognizing the school as meeting level II standards, the Commune People's Committee invested in rebuilding the facilities of the Kindergarten site B.
However, due to difficulties in funding, this school has not been completed yet. According to the approval decision, this project has a total investment of nearly 15 billion VND, the implementation period is from 2020 to 2022. However, from 2021, after completing the rough part of the project, the capital ran out and had to be temporarily suspended.

"The commune is the investor but the capital is allocated by the district budget. We also really want the project to be completed soon to put into use, to avoid waste. However, because the district has not yet allocated capital, the project has to be temporarily suspended. We have proposed to the district People's Committee to have a capital allocation plan to continue implementing and completing the project" - Ms. Hien said.

According to Ms. Hien, the district also has a policy of continuing to invest so that the project can be completed soon.
"The commune is the investor but the capital is provided by the district, so we will work on it as much as the capital is provided. Currently, the project is about 80% complete. We are striving to complete and put the project into use in the new school year 2025-2026," said Ms. Hien.
