Hanoi - Functional agencies begin barricading a part of Van Cao street to construct station S1 - Quan Ngua belonging to metro line No. 5.

On June 19, the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board (MRB) informed that the unit has adjusted barriers and organized traffic on Van Cao street to serve the construction of S1 station - Quan Ngua station, belonging to the Urban Railway Project No. 5, Van Cao - Ngoc Khanh - Lang - Hoa Lac (metro No. 5).

Accordingly, barricades and traffic organization will be implemented from now until the end of April 15, 2027.

Previously, according to MRB's announcement, in the S1 station area on Van Cao street, the construction unit will fix the median strip and the entire road surface on the Quan Ngua stadium side with a length of about 476m and a width of 20-40m.

At the same time, the median strip and part of Van Cao street in both directions will be fenced off with a width of about 20m. After adjustment, the direction of the road towards Nguyen Chi Thanh will remain about 10.25m, equivalent to 3 lanes; the direction towards West Lake will remain about 7m, equivalent to 2 lanes.

Traffic on the Van Cao route is basically still organized as it is now. However, functional agencies will add signs limiting the maximum speed of 40km/h, signs prohibiting stopping and parking within the barriers to ensure safety for people and vehicles passing through the area.

In addition, turnaround points will be arranged in front of the barrier area to serve the needs of moving in the direction of Lieu Giai or the opposite direction.

According to MRB, the investor and contractor will fully install a system of corrugated iron fences, barriers, markers, signs, warning lights and temporary lighting to ensure traffic safety. Dust control measures such as covering the construction site, car wash bridges, and spraying to reduce dust are also being implemented to limit impacts on the environment and urban aesthetics.

Construction vehicles are only allowed to enter and exit the construction site from 10 pm the previous day to 5 am the next morning. Operating outside the above time frame must be licensed by a competent authority.

During the construction period, the project implementing unit will coordinate with the Traffic Police force, local authorities and related units to arrange forces to divert and regulate traffic, and promptly handle arising situations to limit congestion.
