On October 26, public opinion was stirred up when a photo of a boy rollerblading on Hanoi's Ring Road 2 was posted on social media.
According to the investigation of Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, the image was taken by the driver at 9:00 a.m. on October 26 on the elevated Ring Road 2 section through Khuong Thuong ward (Dong Da district, in the direction of Truong Chinh - Nga Tu So).
At this time, the boy was wearing shorts and a short-sleeved shirt, rollerblading in the far right lane (close to the edge of the barrier). At the same time, there were many cars traveling on the road.
"The boy's actions are very dangerous. This is a road reserved for cars and is allowed to travel at a maximum speed of 80km/h. If an accident happens, who knows what will happen" - commented account Le Huy.
Many social media users also believe that parents and relatives need to closely control and manage their children's movements to avoid similar situations.
"It is also important to educate children at this age about the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety. This helps them gain more knowledge about traffic participation, contributing to ensuring the safety of children and everyone else while traveling" - account Nguyen Van Manh expressed his opinion.
The elevated Ring Road 2 section Vinh Tuy - Nga Tu So is more than 5km long, 19m wide, connecting 4 central districts: Hai Ba Trung, Dong Da, Hoang Mai and Thanh Xuan.
The elevated route will open to traffic in January 2023, with a maximum speed of 80 km/h and a branch bridge section of 60 km/h.
The entire Ring Road 2 route has 8 on- and off-ramps at the intersection with Vinh Tuy Bridge, Vong Intersection (on Dai La Street and Truong Chinh Street) and the on- and off-ramps at So Intersection.
Hanoi's Beltway 2 is planned to be more than 43km long, with a cross-section of 50-72.5m. It is an inner-city traffic route running through Vinh Tuy - Minh Khai - Nga Tu Vong - Nga Tu So - Lang - Cau Giay - Vo Chi Cong - Truong Sa - Nguyen Van Linh - Vinh Tuy, forming a closed belt.
Currently, Belt Road 2 has completed 32km, including three large bridges: Nhat Tan, Vinh Tuy, and Dong Tru.
