Hanoi Police synchronously deploy traffic diversion and regulation plans from afar, focusing on key gateways to ensure smooth traffic during the last day of the holidays.
From 10 am on May 3rd, the number of vehicles began to increase at the end of the Phap Van - Cau Gie expressway in the direction of the Capital center.

According to representatives of Traffic Police Teams No. 5, 6, 7 and 14, the traffic situation on key routes such as Ring Road 3, Nguyen Trai, Nguyen Xien, Giai Phong, Co Linh, Thanh Tri bridge... is basically smooth, no congestion has occurred, and vehicles move stably.

Previously, in the late afternoon of May 2, in the area at the end of the Phap Van - Cau Gie highway, there was a situation of vehicles extending and moving slowly into the inner city and onto the elevated Ring Road 3. The traffic flow stretched nearly 2 km, putting great pressure on the infrastructure of the southern gateway.
Lieutenant Colonel Dao Viet Long - Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi Police - said that functional forces have proactively forecast the situation of people returning early, thereby adjusting the traffic light cycle, organizing remote traffic diversion, focusing on clearing at hot spots such as the end of Phap Van expressway, Ring Road 3 elevated road, Nguyen Xien, not allowing prolonged congestion into the inner city.
The Traffic Police Department has mobilized 100% of its personnel, deployed forces at 287 intersections, coordinated with commune-level police to regulate traffic, preventing prolonged congestion. At the same time, strengthen patrols, inspections, and strictly handle violations such as alcohol concentration, speeding, carrying more people, and illegal parking.
At the southern gateway, Road Traffic Police Team No. 14 coordinated with forces from adjacent provinces to divert traffic from afar on National Highway 1, limiting vehicles from converging at the same time. Functional forces also strengthened handling violations in transport activities such as passenger stuffing, picking up and dropping off passengers in violation of regulations; resolutely handling drivers who violate alcohol concentration on Giai Phong and Kim Dong routes.

In the Eastern area, Road Traffic Police Team No. 5 arranged forces at the Co Linh - Dam Quang Trung, Co Linh - Thach Ban intersections, coordinating with grassroots police to regulate flexibly, preventing local congestion.
On the Pham Hung - Pham Van Dong and elevated Ring Road 3 axes, functional forces maintain 100% of the on-duty force, deploy fixed posts and mobile patrol teams to promptly handle incidents, and prevent prolonged congestion. The western area is also proactively planned to welcome the flow of vehicles to the center.
In the inner city, the police of districts and towns strengthen the handling of encroachment on roads and sidewalks, ensuring clear road surfaces. The artificial intelligence application surveillance camera system operates continuously, helping to detect early points with high vehicle density to promptly regulate.
According to Lieutenant Colonel Tran Quang Chinh - Deputy Head of Traffic Police Team No. 1, by the morning of May 3, inner-city traffic was stable, no congestion occurred. Routes such as Tran Nhat Duat, Chuong Duong bridge circulated smoothly. Functional forces have prepared plans for regulation during peak hours in the evening, when the number of vehicles is expected to increase sharply.
Hanoi Traffic Police Department recommends that when heavy rain may occur, people need to reduce speed, maintain a safe distance, and strictly comply with regulations when participating in traffic.
During the April 30 - May 1 holiday, the Traffic Police force of Hanoi City Police maintained 100% of their personnel to patrol, control, and coordinate traffic diversion at key intersections, bus stations, train stations, national highways and ring roads, ensuring smooth traffic, without prolonged congestion; traffic accidents were controlled, and security and order were maintained.
Functional forces have handled 2,831 violations, fined more than 8.4 billion VND; temporarily seized 390 vehicles, deducted points from driver's licenses in 390 cases. On waterways, 21 violations were handled.
The main violations include alcohol concentration violations (634 cases), speeding (234 cases), oversized and overloaded violations (62 cases).
