The above information was released at the online conference for the April meeting and deployment of key tasks for May 2026, which took place on the afternoon of April 23.
In April 2026, Hanoi Police was ranked as Excellent by the Ministry of Public Security Office - the highest level in the scoring table for the implementation of Resolution 57 and Project 06. This result shows the methodical approach and clear orientation of the Party Committee and Board of Directors of Hanoi City Police in the roadmap for modernizing the force.
The highlight is the expansion of international consultations, with the participation of expert Jonathan Lim (Singapore) in the role of "major architect" for the Hanoi Smart City Project. To realize this goal, Hanoi City Police has allocated more than 86 billion VND for 15 key digital transformation solutions in 2026.
The security monitoring system is being deployed synchronously in many spaces. Underground, the project to install 21,671 AI cameras is forming a widespread monitoring network.
In the air, the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system is completing procedures to submit for approval, and is expected to be piloted in key areas such as Hoan Kiem and Tay Ho to serve urban order monitoring and improve rapid response capabilities.
In parallel with budget investment, Hanoi City Police promoted socialization and mobilized the participation of businesses. To date, 487 businesses and organizations have agreed to share camera data to the Command Information Center; of which, 130 cameras have been integrated and displayed directly on the iHanoi application for people to monitor together.
Notably, the Hanoi Smart Police digital "brain" system integrating NDAMaps maps is being completed, aiming to become an intuitive operating center. The Capital Police force has also mastered many technology tools such as version 3 document management software, AI chatbot to support nghiệp vụ lookup, and AI camera system to recognize faces for automatic check-in.
Speaking at the conference, Major General Nguyen Hong Ky praised the efforts of the units, and emphasized that May 2026 is a key period to put pilot models into practice. Leaders of Hanoi City Police requested to focus on removing legal obstacles, completing digital map data, and putting the Hanoi Smart Police system into stable operation in the second quarter of 2026.
Along with that, the police force will pilot document processing on AI-integrated wireless devices, contributing to reducing paper files and improving work efficiency.
The document digitization campaign continues to be deployed synchronously, ensuring interconnected and unified data. At the same time, units are required to promote the mobilization of businesses and people to participate in sharing camera data and expanding the security monitoring network.
To operate the technology system effectively, the human factor is identified as key. Hanoi City Police will replicate the on-site training model, such as at Ha Dong and Ngoc Ha Ward Police - where 100% of officers and soldiers have proficiently used AI tools.
The combination of technology infrastructure, data and human resources is expected to help Hanoi City Police improve work efficiency, contributing to building a safe and modern Capital.
