The accident occurred at around 5am on November 24 on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay highway, section Km35 + 300 through Tan Phuc commune, Ham Tan district, Binh Thuan province.
At the above time, the truck with license plate 89H - 009.39 was traveling from North to South. When it reached the above location, it crashed into the rear of the truck in the same direction in front with license plate 92C - 056.90. The collision caused the front of the 89H truck to stick to the rear of the truck in front, and the front of the truck was crushed.
The driver sitting in the driver's seat of car 89H was taken out of the cabin with minor injuries, while a co-driver who was sleeping behind the driver's seat was trapped inside. The driver of the other car was injured.
3 ambulances arrived at the scene. 1 car from the Fire and Rescue Police, Binh Thuan Provincial Police and dozens of officers and soldiers arrived at the scene using specialized equipment and coordinating with a rescue crane to pull the crushed cabin to get the driver trapped inside out.
At 6:15 a.m. the same day, the co-driver trapped in the cabin of the car with license plate 89H was rescued safely.
Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 6, Department 6, Traffic Police Department was present at the scene to regulate traffic. At the same time, they regulated vehicles heading towards the side of the road where the accident occurred to exit the highway at the National Highway 55 intersection.
Many cars near the accident site were stuck for about 2km. The Criminal Police Department of Ham Tan District Police, Binh Thuan Province, arrived at the scene to investigate the accident.
