In order to meet the travel needs of people during the National Day holiday of September 2nd, the Hanoi City Traffic Management and Operation Center has developed a plan to organize public passenger transport, requiring units to proactively operate buses and urban railways, ensure stable routes and promptly relieve passengers when demand increases.
According to the plan, during the 5-day National Day holiday of September 2nd, Hanoi maintains bus operations with more than 17,000 trips per day. Urban railway lines 2A and 3.1 are organized to operate with a frequency of about 10 minutes/trip.
Hanoi City also arranges 42 backup buses at transport units, ready to be reinforced to relieve passengers when travel demand suddenly arises.
The Hanoi City Traffic Management and Operation Center is assigned to be the focal point for coordinating with transport units, proactively handling arising situations and confirming increased trips.
Transport units must arrange personnel at terminals, transfer points and areas attracting a large number of passengers to monitor the situation and promptly propose solutions to clear when the number of passengers increases.
In addition to ensuring vehicles, businesses are required to renovate buses and trains, ensuring vehicles are clean and safe before and during the holidays.
Drivers and service staff must strictly comply with traffic safety regulations; do not use phones when driving, do not drive when there is alcohol concentration in the body.
Units must also arrange forces to be on duty, support passengers and be ready to coordinate with functional forces in traffic diversion and passenger clearance at bus stations, train stations, and airports when necessary.
At noon on August 22, in an exchange with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Thai Ho Phuong - Director of Hanoi City Traffic Management and Operation Center said that during the 5-day National Day holiday, people will continue to use buses and trains for free.
Maintaining stable operations, increasing vehicles and providing free buses and trains contributes to meeting the travel needs of people and tourists, while reducing pressure on the road transport system during the National Day of September 2nd.
