On January 1, Hai Phong City Police said that the City's Center for Public Transport Management, Maintenance and Waterway Inspection is installing 5 traffic surveillance camera points to serve the task of "cold fines" for drivers who violate traffic laws at intersections in the city center.
Accordingly, 5 central roads and streets will be equipped with traffic surveillance cameras, including: Lach Tray - Nguyen Binh intersection; Me Linh - Hai Ba Trung; Truong Chinh - Nguyen Truong To; Le Thanh Tong - Da Nang; Ton Duc Thang - Hung Vuong (So Dau intersection). The units strive to put into operation 5 "cold fine" points before Lunar New Year 2025.
According to the plan, in 2025, the city will install and renovate smart camera systems at 30 intersections and automatic speed measuring machines at 3 locations on the streets.
Previously, the unit also deployed 5 traffic camera points to monitor fines at 5 intersections in the city.
According to the Traffic Police Department, from May 1, 2023 to November 19, 2024, the authorities recorded 12,356 traffic violations, of which the Traffic Police Department directly recorded and decided to handle 3,742 cases, collecting fines of more than 20 billion VND for handling violations.
The local police and the vehicle owner's place of residence will also decide on administrative sanctions against the driver.
