On December 11, authorities of Da Huoai district (Lam Dong) said that they are investigating a traffic accident that left two teenagers injured.
Initial information, the accident occurred at around 6:20 p.m. on December 10, on Provincial Road 721, passing Da Mai slope in Cat Tien town (Da Huoai district).
At the above time, a motorbike driven by D (14 years old, residing in Da Lay commune, Da Huoai district), carrying L (same age, same commune), was traveling on Provincial Road 721 from Cat Tien town to Da Teh town.
While traveling to Da Mai slope in Cat Tien town, the car crashed into an electric pole on the side of the road. The accident left both D and L seriously injured.
Locals discovered and took the two victims to Da Huoai District Medical Center (branch 2 in Da Teh town) for emergency treatment. The victims were then transferred to Ho Chi Minh City for further treatment.
However, due to severe injuries, D died at the hospital.
After the accident occurred, Da Huoai District Police and Cat Tien Town Police were present to examine the scene and investigate the cause.
Test results showed that the blood alcohol concentration of victim D was 0.5 mg/l and victim L was 0.19 mg/l.
