Phu Thinh Bridge across the Red River, connecting Bac Cuong ward with Van Hoa commune, Lao Cai city, was started in 2022 with a total investment of 450 billion VND.
This is an important project of Lao Cai province. Once completed, it will make travel more convenient for people on both sides of the Red River and they will not have to go around to the city center.
According to Lao Dong Newspaper reporters on November 16, at the Phu Thinh bridge construction site, workers are working and operating excavators to complete the final stages to bring the project to the finish line.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan (Kim Tan Ward, Lao Cai City) shared: “Every morning I walk here, seeing the bridge being completed day by day. When the bridge is completed, the travel of people on both sides of the Red River in this area will be faster, without having to go all the way up to Pho Moi or Coc Leu Bridges.”
It is known that Phu Thinh Bridge is 250.2 m long, consisting of 5 spans, of which the spans are continuous beams made of prestressed reinforced concrete constructed by balanced cantilever and cast-in-place methods. The width of the bridge deck is 15.5 m at the cast-in-place span, 20 m wide at the cantilever span and is expanded to 30.5 m at the viewing platform.
The project is built with reinforced concrete, prestressed reinforced concrete and steel, and can withstand earthquakes of level 7.
Around November, 2023, Phu Thinh Bridge was combined, completed the main bridge.
