The Ninh Cuong bridge construction project across the Ninh Co River is a level II traffic project with a total investment of more than 580 billion VND. In the capital structure, ODA loans from the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) of the Korean Government account for more than 465 billion VND, and the rest is counterpart funds from the Central Budget and the Provincial Budget for site clearance (GPMB).
Regarding the implementation progress, the project has completed the selection of construction contractors and supervision consultants. It is expected that the main items will start implementation and commence from the beginning of April 2026 and must be completed within 18 months.
To serve the construction, the Provincial People's Committee has assigned Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 2 to be the investor of the Site Clearance Sub-project. Through review, the total actual compensation and resettlement support costs are estimated at more than 289 billion VND, significantly higher than the initial estimate.
Currently, site clearance work is focusing on two key areas, in Nghia Hung commune, striving to hand over the site before April 5, 2026.
Ninh Cuong commune is an area with a large volume of compensation, the location of pier P5 is currently entangled with the shipyard, which is identified as a critical road determining the construction progress of the central pier in the river before the rainy and storm season, requiring land handover before May 30, 2026.
According to Vice Chairman of Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Cao Son, the Ninh Cuong bridge project is not only an infrastructure project but also a commitment of the province to the Government and foreign partners. This is also a project with a particularly urgent nature in terms of time. To ensure the commencement and completion progress of the project as committed, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested all levels and sectors to focus highly and flexibly in implementing tasks.
