Started on April 19, 2025, the Ninh Binh - Hai Phong expressway project, the section passing through the old Ninh Binh province (hereinafter referred to as the Project) is gradually reaching its finish line, striving to be completed and put into operation by the end of this year.

The project has a total investment of 6,865 billion VND, of which the central budget is 4,865 billion VND and Ninh Binh province's budget is 2,000 billion VND. The entire road has a total length of 25.3km, a design speed of 120km/h, a roadbed width of 24.75m and auxiliary works on the route.

Up to now, the entire route has completed site clearance and removed difficulties in materials. Contractors are focusing on promoting overtime, increasing crews, and increasing construction teams to shorten project construction time.
Talking to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Quang Minh - Deputy Director of Ninh Binh Province Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 1 (Project investor) - said that as of now (March 28 - PV), the project construction volume has reached nearly 30% and strives to complete it ahead of schedule. It is expected that the Project will be completed around the end of November 2026.

On the main route of the Project, the contractor is currently deploying 7 construction fronts simultaneously, performing tasks such as excavating soil, filling the roadbed with sand... The bridge part is deploying 12 construction fronts simultaneously at 12/12 bridge construction locations. In which, the workload has completed 90% of the sand filling foundation.
Contractors have mobilized about 500 machines, equipment and nearly 1,000 workers, taking advantage of the weather to support, maintaining 3 shifts/day and lasting until 10 pm daily" - Mr. Minh said.

Also according to Mr. Minh, this is a key national transport project built to create new momentum for socio-economic development of Ninh Binh province and the provinces of the Red River Delta.
Ninh Binh province has shortened the construction time of the project from 6 years (2024 - 2029) to 3 years (2024 - 2026), therefore, the province has directed to complete site clearance and complete construction in 2026.
Currently, we have also assigned officials to closely monitor the construction site, and promptly handle difficulties. At the same time, direct contractors to increase shifts, increase crews, and supplement human and material resources at lightning speed to complete the Project" - Mr. Minh said.
