56 more electric buses operate in Hanoi

Hanoi - April 1st, Hanoi Transport Corporation officially put into operation 56 medium-sized electric buses on routes 15, 17 and 36.

Implementing the decisions of the Hanoi Department of Construction, Hanoi Transport Corporation (Transerco) announced the deployment of new service targets on bus routes No. 05, 15, 17, 36 and 54 from April 1, 2026, in order to improve service quality and better meet the travel needs of people.

The highlight in this adjustment is Transerco officially putting into operation 56 medium-sized electric buses on routes 15 (Gia Lam Bus Station - Pho Ni, Soc Son), route 17 (Long Bien - Noi Bai) and route 36 (Long Bien - Yen Xa). This is an important step, opening the roadmap for converting vehicles to use clean energy according to Transerco's 2026 plan, contributing to reducing emissions, protecting the environment and gradually modernizing the public passenger transport system of the Capital.

Previously, in 2025, Transerco proactively piloted and effectively put into operation 63 electric buses on 4 routes 05, 39, 47, 34, ensuring progress according to the city's requirements, creating a foundation for expanding conversion in the next phase.

Along with replacing vehicles, Transerco implements operation organization adjustments to improve operation efficiency. Adjusting the terminal point of route 36 from (Long Bien - Linh Dam Urban Area) to (Long Bien - Yen Xa); and at the same time adjusting the number of vehicle trips according to new service targets: route 05 with 94 trips/day; route 15 with 164 trips/day; route 17 with 160 trips/day; route 54 with 180 trips/day and route 36 with 90 trips/day.
