According to a report by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh Long province from June 1 - 7, social security work continued to be promoted with many practical support activities, in which the program of building and donating Great Solidarity houses to households in difficult circumstances in the province is prominent.
During the week, the Standing Committee attended the groundbreaking ceremony of 30 Great Solidarity houses in Tan Thuy commune, handed over houses in Ham Giang commune, started the construction of Tue Quang bridge in Tra Con commune, and visited and supported 5 million VND for families with students who died from drowning in Thanh Duc ward.
The Office and professional departments advise on many important contents related to arranging mass organizations, housing support policies for poor households, near-poor households and policy families; and at the same time develop many plans for propaganda, inspection, social criticism and Front work in 2026.
The highlight is the movement "All people join hands to protect the environment, for a green - clean - beautiful Vietnam" being implemented simultaneously throughout the province. 66,180 households and more than 53,500 people participated, planting nearly 48,500 new green trees and ornamental flowers, contributing to improving the rural environmental landscape.
Sub-committees also recorded many positive results. The Trade Union Working Committee organized activities in response to the 14th Vietnam Trade Union Congress, awarding 2,240 gifts to children. The Farmers' Association Working Committee issued 703 membership cards, disbursed 500 million VND from the Farmers Support Fund and appraised production projects with a total capital of 2.72 billion VND.
The Youth Union and Children's Affairs Committee deploys many activities for students; the Women's Affairs Committee awards scholarships and training to disadvantaged students; the Veterans Affairs Committee promotes the movement to protect national security. The Youth and Children's Activities Center and the Farmers Support Center continue to organize many programs to serve youth and farmer members in the province.
