With the theme "80 years - Journey of compassion for the community", Humanitarian Month 2026 marks a special milestone, celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Association's establishment and the 136th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh - the first Honorary President of the Association.
Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai - Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front affirmed that the Launching Ceremony of Humanitarian Month 2026 is an event of profound political, social and humanistic significance, contributing to strongly spreading the spirit of compassion, solidarity and attachment between all strata of people throughout society.
According to Comrade Bui Thi Minh Hoai, humanity and charity are precious traditional beauties of the Vietnamese nation. Values such as "love others as you love yourself", "the healthy leaf protects the torn leaf" have become noble expressions of compassion, a great spiritual strength to help the nation overcome many difficulties and challenges in the process of building and protecting the Fatherland.

In the context of the country entering a new stage of development with the requirements of innovation, breakthrough and deep integration, humanitarian work needs to be elevated to a new level. Not only stopping at simple support and assistance activities, humanitarian work needs to become an important pillar in the modern social security system, contributing to maintaining political and social stability, strengthening people's trust and promoting rapid and sustainable development.
The comrade also affirmed that humanitarian activities are also a vivid expression of national cultural identity, and at the same time an important "soft power" resource, contributing to enhancing the position and image of Vietnam in the international arena.
2026 has special significance when the Humanitarian Month is implemented associated with the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, creating more motivation for levels, sectors, and localities to continue to promote humanitarian activities, widely spreading the spirit of compassion throughout society.
