On the afternoon of November 13, Bamboo Airways announced changes in senior personnel when appointing Mr. Bui Quang Dung as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the 2023-2028 term from November 12, replacing Mr. Le Thai Sam.
This is the 7th time the airline has replaced the Chairman of the Board of Directors since FLC Group encountered difficulties since March 2022.
According to information from the enterprise, before taking on the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Bui Quang Dung held the position of Deputy General Director of FLC, and was also Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Deputy General Director of Bamboo Airways.
He has a Master's degree in Business Administration from Southern Columbia University (USA) and more than 15 years of experience in the field of investment management and real estate business, having held many senior positions at Colliers International, BIM Group and Empire Group.

Meanwhile, Mr. Le Thai Sam - the predecessor - continues to participate in the management as a member of the Board of Directors. Thus, the Board of Directors of Bamboo Airways currently has 6 members including Mr. Bui Quang Dung, Le Thai Sam, Nguyen Ngoc Trong, Le Ba Nguyen, Truong Phuong Thanh and Ms. Phung Thi Thu Thao.
Bamboo Airways said that the improvement of senior personnel is to prepare for a new development phase after the company returns to the management of FLC Group, according to the proposal of the group of former investors representing Mr. Duong Cong Minh.
According to the plan, by 2030, Bamboo Airways will restructure the operating system, expand the fleet and flight network. In the immediate future, the airline will receive another aircraft to serve the peak period at the end of the year, and continue to add vehicles before the Lunar New Year 2026.
At the extraordinary meeting of the Board of Directors on November 11, FLC CEO Bui Hai Huyen said that the Group's agreement to receive the ownership, management and operation of Bamboo Airways was carefully considered, in compliance with the law and based on the proposal of Mr. Le Thai Sam - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bamboo Airways.
The board acknowledged that taking over Bamboo Airways in the context of FLC's comprehensive restructuring is a big challenge. However, the policy is based on three principles: not interrupting the restructuring process; ensuring development plans in accordance with existing financial and human resource capacity; strictly controlling risks, maintaining sustainable operations.
FLC is currently working with a number of domestic and foreign partners with experience in the fields of aircraft leasing and finance, to find cooperation solutions and support investment capital for Bamboo Airways in the coming time.
