Specifically, last night, Instagram was suddenly updated with a new interface with the same horizontal photo preference as Tinder. Instead of coil-zzling as before, this new version of Instagram requires users to click on the left or right half of the screen orlide across the screen to review photos.
The sudden change has met with negative reactions from users. Many users immediately used Facebook, Twitter or other social networks to complain about the new interface of Instagram.
"The Instagram update is very ugly, it's worse than the Snapchat update," a user complained on his Twitter account: @samfloresxo.
The redesigned Snapchat application interface has been met with negative reactions from many users since its release last year, and newer updated versions have been criticized for being unfriendly and difficult to use.
Instagram also quickly withdrew the update and explained that this was a mistake in the process of distributing testing software.
Adam Mosseri, who was recently appointed by Facebook to take charge of Instagram's operations instead of the co-founder who just left the company, shared that the nganging photo/reporting review feature was originally scheduled to be tested in a small group of users. However, an error caused this update to be widely released.
Mosseri advises those who are still affected to restart the Instagram app to return to its familiar state. "We have quickly fixed the problem and the data source has returned to normal," Instagram said in a statement sent via email.
