The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just reported to the Prime Minister regarding the issuance of supplements and updates to the Plan for implementing the VIII Power Plan.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, on August 30, the Ministry had a working session with the Security Investigation Agency (A09), Ministry of Public Security to review 154 projects transferred by the Government Inspectorate (in Conclusion No. 1027/KL-TTCP dated April 28, 2023).
However, the Security Investigation Agency, Ministry of Public Security said that it takes time to review all projects. Therefore, the Ministry of Industry and Trade currently has no basis to advise the Government on how to handle these solar power projects .
The Ministry of Industry and Trade said that based on the report of the Ministry of Public Security, it will continue to coordinate with relevant units to find solutions for solar power projects that have been assigned to investors by localities in the coming time and report to competent authorities for consideration and decision.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade also said that it has worked with the Government Inspectorate on violations of wind power and small hydropower projects (in conclusion 1027 of the Government Inspectorate).
Of these, there are 7 wind power projects approved by the Prime Minister but named by the Government Inspectorate, located in the provinces of Ba Ria - Vung Tau; Ninh Thuan and Dak Lak, including: Cu Ne 1, Cu Ne 2, Krong Buk 1, Krong Buk 2, Cong Hai phase 1, Cong Hai phase 2, Cong Ly Ba Ria - Vung Tau phase 1.
Violations occurred in some provinces such as Dak Nong with 4 hydropower projects and 6 wind power projects located on mineral land; Binh Thuan province has 7 wind power projects located on mineral land.
After the meeting, the Government Inspectorate said that it would have a written response to the Ministry of Industry and Trade regarding the discussed contents and would send a document to the relevant localities to request a report on the correction of the contents pointed out by the Government Inspectorate.
Up to now, after 10 days of meeting, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has not yet received the document, so the ministry recommends that the Prime Minister direct the Government Inspectorate to promptly respond to the Ministry of Industry and Trade to have a basis for consulting on the implementation of the above projects in the next plan supplement.
