Present at Mi Hong gold shop at 2:00 p.m., Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hue (living in Binh Thanh District) said: "At around 8:30 a.m., I went to buy gold regularly, but the shop was too crowded so I went home. It takes about 15-20 minutes to buy gold rings, but the store also sells only a limited amount, it does not cost to buy".
The store employee said that in recent days, gold prices have been at a high level but selling pressure has overwhelmed buying pressure. In addition to gold rings and gold bars, gold jewelry is also chosen by many people to buy at this time.
At Saigon Jewelry Company (District 3), many customers waiting to trade at the plain ring counter were also recorded, each person could only buy a maximum of one tael of gold ring. For gold bars, customers must order online, then successfully order the company to pay and receive the gold.
"In the past few days, I have heard that gold prices have increased, I was afraid that it would increase, so I also went to buy 1-2 to save for security" - Ms. Cao Nhu Y (living in District 3) shared.
However, at many gold shops and neighborhoods specializing in gold, silver and precious stones in Ho Chi Minh City such as Thiec Market (District 11), An Dong Market (District 5), Hoa Binh Market (District 5), Nguyen Huu Cau Street (District 1), there are strange scenes when there are only a few customers coming to trade gold.
An employee of a gold shop near An Dong market (District 5) said that in the past few days, there have not been many customers to buy and sell. "Some customers asked to buy plain gold rings but the shop did not have much to sell. Occasionally, there are customers coming to buy but mainly gold jewelry" - this employee said.
