On October 22, Dak Lak Rubber Joint Stock Company (abbreviated as Dakruco, under the People's Committee of Dak Lak province) held the "Announcement Ceremony of FSC-FM/CoC certification and readiness to meet EUDR for Dakruco's rubber products".
FSC is a prestigious international organization in setting standards for sustainable forest management. This certification is a testament to Dakruco's commitment to protecting the environment and biodiversity.
With FSC certification, Dakruco's rubber products are recognized as being harvested from responsibly managed forests, without negatively impacting the natural ecosystem.
Mr. Nguyen Minh - General Director of Dakruco said that the unit started the project "Sustainable rubber forest development program" at the end of 2020. The company has established a Sustainable Rubber Development Board.
"The company's officers and employees are sent to attend training courses. Dakruco also revised its procedures to comply with the 10 principles in the FSC Vietnam forest management standards," Mr. Minh added.
According to Mr. Minh, in recent years, the unit has focused on implementing the digitalization program in management and operation. This is also the fundamental factor for the company to combine preparation work to be ready to meet the European Union's anti-deforestation regulations (abbreviated as EUDR)...
To date, Dakruco's first batches of EUDR-compliant products have been accepted by customers with a 20 to 30% increase in selling price.
The company's products are fully transparent, ensure quality, and aim for the common sustainable development of three factors: economy, society, and environment.
"In the coming time, Dakruco will continue digital transformation programs, sustainable development, and expand the area of rubber gardens meeting FSC-FM standards according to the demand for natural rubber products with FSC-FM/CoC certification in the market," Mr. Minh affirmed.
Speaking at the ceremony, a representative of the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee said that the Provincial People's Committee is very proud that in the province there is a pioneering enterprise that has achieved FSC certification.
The unit is also the enterprise with the largest international FSC certified rubber area in Vietnam up to now.
Dakruco has approached and is ready to comply with the European Union's anti-deforestation regulations from the end of 2023 and has exported products to this market.
This is not only a necessary step to ensure compliance with the strict regulations of the EUDR, but also a testament to Dakruco's strategic vision in harmonizing economic benefits and environmental protection.
