On the second working day in China (26 - 28 November), Minister Tran Duc Thang and the working delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment worked with the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC), chaired by Deputy General Director Zhao Tang Lien. At the meeting, the two sides agreed to sign a Protocol allowing the export of Vietnamese fresh jackfruit to China.

Deputy Director General Trieu Tang Lien affirmed that the Vietnam - China cooperation relationship continues to develop positively, especially in the field of agricultural products. He said that two-way trade recorded many bright signals, when by the end of October 2025, China had imported 8.7 billion USD of agricultural products from Vietnam.
"I believe that after this working trip of the Minister, the cooperative relationship between the two sides will develop more, especially the relationship in economy, society and trade in two directions," the Deputy Director General emphasized.

He also said that China attaches importance to opening the market for quality agricultural products of Vietnam. This year, the two sides signed 4 Protocols related to chili, passion fruit, rice bran and raw bird's nest, the signing of the Protocol on fresh jackfruit is expected to create more momentum for bilateral agricultural trade.
On the Vietnamese side, Minister Tran Duc Thang said that the import-export turnover between Vietnam and China in the first 10 months of 2025 has exceeded the total for the whole year of 2024, showing the importance of this market for Vietnamese agriculture. He assessed that the coordination between the Ministry and GACC has been very effective in recent times and needs to continue to be promoted.

The Minister also emphasized the potential for expanding investment and trade thanks to the common border, and expressed his gratitude to GACC for its coordination so that the two sides can sign a protocol to export fresh jackfruit during this working trip.


Within the framework of the working session, Minister Tran Duc Thang and Mr. Trieu Tang Lien discussed a number of additional professional contents related to import and export of agricultural, forestry and fishery products between the two countries.
