The stock market had a turbulent trading session. Right from the opening of the trading session on April 22, strong selling pressure caused the electricity board to be in the red, including hundreds of floor-to-bank stocks. The VN30 Power Board also recorded 30/30 codes of decrease.
The market continued to sell more strongly as soon as trading resumed in the afternoon session. The electronic board with hundreds of stocks quickly expanded its downward momentum, and many have even retreated to the floor price.
However, the decrease in the session is an opportunity for investors to get to the bottom. HoSE's liquidity improved significantly with 1.37 billion shares transferred, equivalent to a trading value of VND 27,300 billion.
Towards the end of the session, the index's decline was significantly narrowed thanks to bottom-fishing cash flow. At the end of today's session, April 22, VN Index decreased by less than 10 points, equivalent to 0.82%, to more than 1,197 points. The entire HoSE exchange had 400 stocks down, including 24 stocks down, 132 stocks up and 46 stocks sideways.
The number of stocks decreased in the VN30 basket also decreased with 18 stocks decreased, 10 stocks increased and 2 stocks stood at a price. The group of 10 recovery codes of the VN30 basket includes; VHM, MWG, VCB, MSN, MBB, HPG, VRE, STB, SSB, LPB.
The most notable stock is probably SHB, when it also came back from the floor price, it got a reference price, matching the order to have a new record session with more than 218.2 million units.
On the contrary, the two stocks expanding their increase were VHM when they increased by +4.6% to VND 57,500, matching more than 10.7 million units and MWG +3.1% to VND 57,300, matching 16.3 million units.
Unlike in early April, during this decline, foreign investors bought in. Foreign investors net bought strongly on the HoSE exchange today with a value of VND504 billion.
Of which, the group of stocks with the strongest net purchases are HPG (212 billion VND), MWG (183 billion VND), STB (170 billion VND),...
On the contrary, foreign investors focus on net selling stocks: FPT, KBC, VNM, MSN, FTS.
According to market strategists at HSC Securities Company, investors should maintain a defensive mindset, should not use leverage (marge trading) at this time, and prioritize choosing stocks that are less directly affected by external risks.
This is also the common mentality of cash flow in the market, so the demand of these industry groups will be higher than that of the other groups, helping to make stock prices stronger.
Sectors such as banking, securities, public investment and retail will be good choices in the current period, thanks to the ability to benefit from domestic support policies.
HSC Securities Company predicts that the extent of the recovery in the market will depend largely on the results of trade negotiations between Vietnam and the US.
A signed agreement not only acts as a strong catalyst for market sentiment, but can also arouse domestic growth expectations and promote economic restructuring.
Conversely, if negotiations do not bring positive results, the risk of adjustment may reappear when investor sentiment returns to a cautious state.
