According to the list of shareholders owning 1% or more of charter capital updated by LPBank on June 23, this bank has a new major shareholder, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, with 146.2 million LPB shares, equivalent to 4.894% of charter capital.
Representatives of Vingroup and LPBank confirmed that Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong carried out the transaction with the purpose of personal financial investment from idle capital and did not plan to participate in bank management or operation activities.
With the above ownership ratio, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong is currently the individual shareholder holding the largest number of LPB shares. In addition to Mr. Vuong, LPBank currently only has one shareholder owning over 1% of capital, which is Vietnam Post Corporation (VNPost), with a holding ratio of 6.53%.
Immediately after the information was announced, LPB shares increased to the full range of 52,600 VND/share. According to this price level, the amount of LPB shares held by Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong has a market value of about 7,690 billion VND.
In addition to investing in LPBank, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong currently directly owns nearly 390 million VIC shares and holds capital in many businesses in the Vingroup ecosystem such as GSM, VinSpeed, VinEnergo... His family currently owns about 65% of capital in Vingroup.
According to Forbes' real-time billionaire ranking on June 23, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong's assets reached nearly 35 billion USD, ranking 64th in the world and continuing to hold the position of Southeast Asian richest person.
Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong was recognized by Forbes as the first USD billionaire of Vietnam in 2013 with assets of 1.5 billion USD. After 13 years, his asset value has increased more than 23 times.
LPBank, formerly Lien Viet Post Bank, changed its name to LPBank from July 2025. As of the end of 2025, the bank's total assets reached 605.585 billion VND.
