From June 20-22, Politburo Member, Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung and the delegation of the Party and State of Vietnam visited the Republic of Cuba as Special Envoy of General Secretary and President To Lam to inform the Communist Party of Cuba about the results of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and exchange views on the cooperation situation between the two Parties and two countries.
The Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs on June 23rd informed that, within the framework of the visit, Comrade Le Hoai Trung had meetings with First Secretary, President Miguel Diaz-Canel, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, talks with Politburo Member, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla and announced the results of the XIV Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam on the morning of June 22nd at a Conference organized by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba with the chairmanship of First Secretary, President of Cuba Miguel Diaz-Canel and the participation of a large number of Politburo members and the Secretariat.
Comrade Le Hoai Trung respectfully conveyed the message of General Secretary and President To Lam to General Raul Castro Ruz and First Secretary and President of Cuba Diaz-Canel, and conveyed the greetings of senior Vietnamese leaders to Cuban leaders.
Comrade Le Hoai Trung also highly appreciated the comprehensive transformation measures, especially in economics, which the Extraordinary Conference of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Cuban National Assembly have just approved.
At receptions and talks with the working delegation of the Party and State of Vietnam, Cuban leaders expressed their joy and appreciation for the fact that General Secretary and President To Lam sent a Special Envoy to Cuba to announce the results of the XIV Congress, saying that it shows special trust and close comradeship and brotherly relations between the two Parties, the two countries, and the people of the two countries, which is a very meaningful event in the current international and regional situation.
Comrade Miguel Diaz-Canel - First Secretary, President of Cuba and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz sent cordial greetings to General Secretary, President To Lam, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and senior leaders of Vietnam; expressed deep and good impressions of Vietnam's revolutionary and heroic traditions, socio-economic development achievements; said that the important lessons of both theory and practice of Vietnam through 40 years of Doi Moi are very valuable for Cuba to refer to in the process of proposing comprehensive transformation measures recently. Cuban leaders highly appreciated the encouraging results in cooperation in all aspects between the two countries in the past time, especially in agriculture and fisheries, under the close direction of senior leaders of the two Parties, the two countries and the drastic implementation of relevant agencies of both sides.
During the working trip, Comrade Le Hoai Trung also laid wreaths at the Monument to Cuban National Hero José Martí, President Ho Chi Minh Monument in Havana; visited and talked with the Vietnamese community and the Vietnamese Embassy in Cuba; visited agricultural projects, rice, and production of essential goods of Vietnamese businesses in Cuba.
