According to Mr. Nguyen Van Quang - Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, initially, the Politburo concluded the construction of a regional financial center in Da Nang. However, after research and consideration, the Government proposed to build an International Financial Center located in both Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City.
At the meeting with voters before the 9th session of the 15th National Assembly on May 25, Mr. Quang emphasized the difference in advantages between the two cities. While Ho Chi Minh City is strong in traditional finance, a system of stock exchanges and a developed economic ecosystem, Da Nang possesses a favorable geopolitical location, an attractive living and working environment, good security and order, along with the determination of the city's leaders. These factors are highly appreciated by investors, especially investment funds from Singapore.
The Secretary of Da Nang City Party Committee also said that the city is focusing on submitting to the Government soon promulgating the decision to establish a free trade area to create an investment attraction in the fields of production, logistics and high -quality trade and service. The combination of free commercial areas and financial centers is expected to create general strength, promote economic development, create jobs and attract high quality human resources. Since then, turning areas such as Lien Chieu and Hoa Vang into modern development cities.
"Da Nang will call for investment to build 5 floating islands located in Da Nang Bay, creating about 48km of new sea roads on these islands. However, this is a very large project and is very specific. Therefore, we are directing to continue to research carefully and develop special solutions to find an investment formula with special mechanisms for development similar to the current Dubai model," said the Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee.
Mr. Nguyen Van Quang also added that if it can be done like Dubai, it will have a great value in construction. Not only promoting socio-economic development for the city in decades to come, but also building the image and brand of the new Da Nang in the region and in the international arena.
