On May 9, a leader of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province said that the unit had directed the functional department to check the information of many 12th grade students at Cao Ba Quat High School (Buon Ma Thuot city) asking to reserve their learning results.
According to the reporter's investigation, at least 3 12th grade students of Cao Ba Quat High School have submitted applications for reserved results after being invited by the school to discuss.
Ms. H.M.B (H.G.B's mother) confirmed that on April 15, after receiving the mid-term test results, the homeroom teacher invited B and his parents to meet the principal.
After being discussed by the principal, student B was upset and wrote a resignation letter, reserving the results. Meanwhile, there are more than 2 months left until student B starts taking the high school graduation exam.
After that, Ms. H.M.B went to school to meet the principal and asked to let her child go back to school. However, Ms. B's wish was rejected by the principal for many different reasons.
According to the results of the second semester exam, H.G.B has a Math subject with 4.8 points, the remaining subjects are over 5 points. Ms. H said that student B was forced by the school to write a letter of resignation.
Similarly, after being invited to work by the school, the two 12th grade students of the school, Y.T.A and Y.L.E, with quite low academic scores, wrote a letter of resignation and reserved their results. Currently, these two students are working part-time.
"The school's leadership affirmed that there is no encouragement for weak students to stay home from school to increase the graduation rate. However, the Department will send a working group to clarify the truth" - the leader of the Department of Education and Training of Dak Lak province added.
