On April 25, the National Assembly Delegation of Da Nang City had a meeting with voters in Hai Chau, Thanh Khe and Lien Chieu districts (Da Nang City). At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang said that Da Nang has reorganized its apparatus in two phases.
Phase 1, after the Central Government arranged ministries, branches and cities, reduced 5 departments, 26 rooms and 14 rooms in districts. Phase 2, when no longer organized the district -level government and consolidated the communes and wards, from 56 initial administrative units, after the first phase dropped to 47, the city continued to arrange and now only 12 wards, 3 communes and Hoang Sa special zone. The reduction rate is about 66%, equivalent to the overall reduction rate of the country.
"As of this morning, the number of voters giving opinions on the arrangement of administrative units is very high. The consensus rate reached 98.78%. Many localities, including our three localities, have reached a rate of 97% to 100%," said Mr. Nguyen Van Quang.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, this arrangement has affected issues related to people, regimes, policies, and personnel and civil servant arrangements. Many cadres and civil servants are ready to withdraw and give up their positions to those who are capable of better meeting their work and demonstrating a high sense of responsibility.
Regarding the consolidation of Da Nang and Quang Nam, Mr. Quang said: "The steering committee of the two localities has met 3 sessions and basically agreed on the plans and orientations in the process of organizing the arrangement. And we strive to complete both projects on communal and provincial administrative units, reporting to the Central before 30.4."
The City Party Secretary emphasized that the scale of the new city will increase 10 times compared to the present, with an area of about 12,000km2 and a population of more than 3 million people. Da Nang is also studying the project to build 5 floating islands in Da Nang Bay, expected to create 48km of new sea roads.
